Your background as a Head of Electrical Design:

​

• A strong electrical design engineering background – you are likely to have worked as an Electrical Design Engineer before moving into a leadership / management role.

• Previous experience of leading a team of Electrical Design Engineers – this does not need to be a large team.

• Experience of conducting technical reviews, resource planning and supporting the continuous improvement and development of the engineering team and processes.

• You will be degree qualified in an electrical/electronic engineering or similar engineering discipline.

• You will be a Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer or be looking to achieve this in the near future.

• The company work on UK Defence projects, so it is a requirement of this role that you must be a sole British Citizen to obtain the relevant level of security clearance.

Head of Electrical Design responsibilities:

​

• Leading a team of Electrical Design Engineers in the delivery of all aspects of electrical design on cross functional engineering projects including design proposals, detail design, calculations, design validation, and development of technical specifications.

• Assessing customer technical requirements / consulting with customers to agree technical specifications / project requirements and driving projects forward accordingly.

• Conducting technical reviews, resource planning and supporting the continuous improvement and development of the engineering team and processes.
