Graduate Robotics Engineer
Location: Dagenham, Greater London, UK
We are currently working in partnership with a business called Sensor Coating Systems (SCS) to recruit a Robotics Engineer into the team.
Considering Graduates / Junior Robotics Engineers who are seeking to develop a career within a cutting edge technology environment.
Salary Range: c£29,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.

SCS pioneers a proprietary smart-sensor technology that uses luminescent materials to measure past-operating temperatures of components in extreme environments (e.g. the hearts of gas-turbines). Specific Qualifications/Experience for the Robotics Engineer:
Higher education degree in mechanical/mechatronic/electrical engineering or PhD or relevant disciplines.
Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create accurate drawings and 3D models.
Excellent coding skills in Python and/or other programming language (ie C, C++, MATLAB).
Strong theoretical background in kinematics, dynamics and controls for robotics systems.
Working experience in programming and operating robotic arms e.g. RAPID or RoboDK.
Ability to use tools and perform tasks such as soldering and metal cutting with precision and accuracy.
Inquisitive nature and interest in R&D with an excellent working knowledge of English.
Interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in documenting progress to the technical team and to customers.
Programming experience in NI LabVIEW and knowledge of data acquisition systems is desirable but not essential.
Previous industrial experience in Robotics/Automation or similar engineering role is desirable but not essential.
Valid working permit for the UK.
Responsibilities:
Programming and operating industrial robotic arms and gantry automation systems for scanning components with complex geometries.
Implement company’s standard processes to deliver industrial projects – emphasis on data quality in a timely manner.
Develop suitable software and hardware tools to improve and streamline existing processes.
Software & hardware development and troubleshooting of a laser-based automated measurement system.
Support R&D activities such as developing flexible snake-like robotic systems for on-engine measurements.
Perform high-precision measurements using scientific instruments, data management and handling.
Produce process documentation, keep good record of activities, present results to the team and external customers.
Support daily laboratory activities and solve technical challenges independently and in a team.
