Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, Derbyshire

Your background as a Business Development Manager:

  • Proven track record of sales performance – winning of new business and development of key accounts.

  • Experience of providing high quality tender / bid submissions.

  • Commercial astute to interpret contract terms of conditions – some customers are large corporations.

  • Be able to work collaboratively with engineers and project teams to develop new and innovative technical solutions for customers.

  • We are a looking for a candidate that has good length of tenure within their career.

  • Any prior experience of selling into the UK rail sector or selling products that are electrical / control systems / SCADA / systems engineering focused would be beneficial but not essential.

Business Development Manager responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for leading all proactive business development and account management of a mature revenue stream worth £3m-£5m on an annual basis.

  • You will be selling electrical / control / systems engineering products into the UK rail industry.

  • Proactively drive new business activities to win new orders and new customers.

  • Build, lead, and maintain strong customer relationships with new and existing customers).

  • Grow the order book through targeting long term sustainable revenue growth.

  • You will be working as part of a successful team of business development and bid / proposal professionals.

  • The role will involve frequent UK travel to customer sites (70% of customers are based in the South East of England). On average you are likely to spend 1 day per week working from the sales, projects, and engineering office based on the North Leicestershire / South Derbyshire border.
